This is another cupcake recipe from Martha's Cupcake book: s'more cupcakes. I had tried to make this before, except I realized that there would be too much lag-time between baking them and eating them, and the frosting would have hardened, so I used bananas on top instead. But this time I was ready to go - or so I thought.
The cupcakes are made with graham cracker flour and cinnamon to produce a graham cracker-flavored cupcake. Chocolate ganache on top, and then homemade marshmallow fluff.
The idea is to toast these with a kitchen torch, which I was really excited to use. The only problem is that my kitchen torch didn't come with gas, so I just poofed them under the broiler and called it a day. They were still really good. (But it is another instance of me not being fully prepared in the kitchen.)
I've got to get a gas cartridge and then I can do something with the torch; I'm thinking chocolate creme brulee. (Now to find a chocolate creme brulee recipe.)
