Broccoli Dip

The last countdown from the BH&G Appetizers chapter begins, and number 5 is Hot Broccoli Dip.

I thought this recipe was really easy with not too many ingredients. It also cooked up surprisingly fast! I thought the oven would be involved, but this recipe only required me to dirty a large saucepan and the blender.

First, steam some broccoli. The recipe tells you to save some of the steaming water and mix with beef bouillon.

Next, blend that broccoli, the bouillon water, sour cream, and some Worcestershire sauce. (I'm getting the impression that a lot of the BH&G recipes will involve Worcestershire sauce.)

The dip was surprisingly fluffy, and the broccoli paired really well with the savory elements of the bouillon and Worcestershire. We used cauliflower, celery, cucumber, and bread cubes as tasty and healthy dippers.

I'm not really sure whether we'd make this again, but it was fun to try. And with healthy dippers and light sour cream, it's not as bad for you as you'd think!
