Well, I said some beer breads were coming up, and here is the first in a series: Capital Brewing Oktoberfest!
This beer bread is incredibly simple: sift 3 cups flour, 1 tsp. salt, and 3 tsp. baking powder, then mix in 1/4 cup sugar and 12 oz. beer. When you add it to the greased pan, pour the melted butter on top, then bake!
It's not that we don't like the Capital Oktoberfest, it's just that we bought too many Oktoberfests last year and didn't get through all of them. I'm worried now that it's too skunky for drinking, but let me tell you, it made some fantastic beer bread.
I think that this is not too bad a way to use up our excess beer... Next up, a winter New Belgian.
